Wylam bed and breakfast visitor ready

A Warm Welcome Awaits at Wylam Bed and Breakfast

Sitting quietly on the Tyne, Wormald House is a Wylam bed and breakfast that offers guests a truly friendly welcome.

Why stay at Wylam bed and breakfast?

Firstly, Wylam is a has a surprisingly historical past. It is best known as being the the birthplace in 1781 of George Stephenson, called by many the “Father of the Railways“. But also pioneering engineers William Hedley, Timothy Hackworth and Jonathan Forster lived here too! It even boasts its own railway museum.

Secondly, Wylam is a pretty village in Northumberland close to the city and yet feels relaxed and rural. It is served by the main train line from Newcastle to Carlisle so it is incredibly easy to get to. Our B&B is a stone’s throw away from the Grade 2 listed railway station. This is why we are the perfect place for city shoppers, Hadrian’s Wall walkers and Sea to Sea / Coast to Coast (C2C) adventurers.

If you are “Walking the Wall” you can keep perfectly on track without having to rack up extra miles as we will offer a free pick-up/drop-off service from Heddon-on-the-Wall or East Wallhouses if pre-arranged. We can also offer you a hearty packed lunch for your next day’s walking.

There is parking outside the property and plentiful free parking at the Riverside Country car park just a minute’s walk down the road.
