Wormald House Goes Above And Beyond Expectations It goes without saying that a stay at Wormald House is a wonderful and relaxing experience. The amenities are all top notch and attention to details and guest service is beyond expectations. If you go hungry after the sumptuous breakfast it’s your own fault. The menu is able to please any palate and Jayne is an amazing chef. But wait! There’s MORE!! Ian and Jayne’s pictures are in the dictionary next to “Unbelievable Hosts.” I had forgotten my passport and cash at a prior night’s hotel stay in Newcastle and Ian personally drove me back to retrieve the items. We had to wait over three hours for the Newcastle hotel to address my situation. In the meantime, Ian gave me a personal tour of many of Newcastle’s sights - all certainly unexpected. Ian then drove me onwards to my next destination (Corbridge) to join my friends (as we were doing the Hadrian’s Wall trek). Ian and Jayne are STARS in the hospitality business and are true examples of what it means to be welcoming and gracious. Thank you for a wonderfully unexpected and unforgettable stay at your lovely B&B!!!

Definitely worth a visit! This was the last night of our Hadrian's Wall Walk, and it was a fitting end to a great vacation. Everything was perfectly fine, though we were too exhausted to notice any details. Ian and Jayne, the owners, actually glued my hiking boots back together after I limped in. I totally recommend Wormald House.

SIMPLY THE BEST! A Six Star establishment - nothing more need be said! Except to say that this is the best B&B I have ever visited. Lovely village, with friendly people, an ancient and interesting railway station (yes, I am a 'train spotter), an amazingly interesting but tiny railway museum. Small village with four pubs! Don't take my word for it, just go there - but book well in advance if you want to stay in Wormald House.

Helpful, Restful - Wonderful! Sometimes you just need a place to curl up and unwind - and so it was after a very long day on Hadrian’s Wall! Ian was waiting when we made our target and took us to the lovely, historic home that he and Jayne operate as a B&B. Room was lovely, even had a night light and lots of places to plug in all the stuff that we lug around! Little things - little things count - and Ian and Jayne do it very well! The nice thing about Wylam is that it is a robust village with lots of food options. Ian recommended the Ship Inn, new ownership, new menu and really good food - including fajitas with tortillas made in house - never had gin and fajitas before! Thanks to Ian for dropping us off the next morning to shave some miles off our walk sand to Jayne who gets our “best in show” prize for her amazing packed lunches and great breakfast!

A perfect stop over A perfect stop over for family members attending a funeral in the village. Jayne and Ian were delightful hosts, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and accomodation was spotlessly clean. The ensuite rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Wylam Welcome We arrived soaking wet but still smiling. Great to take of our wet things, Ian kindly offered to dry our boots. The room was large, well decorated and appointed. We dined with supplies from the Co op, very near by, as we had enjoyed a hearty pub lunch earlier in the day. The following morning we walked a short distance across the Tyne to the station and took a train to Newcastle. Wylam seems to be a small village with interesting history.

Absolutely amazing and warm place to stay! I was lucky to stay here for two nights as I hiked Hadrian’s Wall and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Ian is the happy driver who meets you at Heddon-on-the-Wall and gives you a lift down to Wylam, where you’re met with the warm and beautiful surroundings of the B&B that he runs with Jayne. Every detail has been attended to and you awake to a delicious breakfast-to-order in the morning (especially loved the homemade jam!). Delicious options for dinner and snacks nearby, and Ian was great and interesting company on the car drives. I hope to return to Wylam sometime in the future.

Excellent Great, comfortable one night stay whilst walking the wall. Hearty breakfast and free pick-up from and drop-off back at Heddon- on-the-Wall as needed. Good local food choices including wood fired pizza restaurant literally next door. Thank you.

Excellent Stay at Wormald House My friend and I stayed at Wormald House in April and had a great time. We arrived earlier than the scheduled 4-6pm check-in time but this was no problem as Jayne was busy gardening and was happy to let us check-in early. As it was Easter weekend, Ian had booked us into the local pub in advance for dinner. Breakfast was great and the packed lunch, beautifully presented in a hamper style. The twin room we stayed in was very comfortable with a very clever bathroom, which made maximum use of the space available. As we arrived early from Newcastle, we also added a walk to Prudhoe Castle and back again, which was a very interesting additional experience. Ian and Jayne are a lovey couple and very welcoming. Overall, we had a great stay and would highly recommend this picturesque location.

Bright, modern and friendly B&B Stylish and modern B&B with welcoming hosts who were very accommodating when we arrived 2 hours prior to the usual check-in time. The room was light and comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and the packed lunch was beautifully presented and very tasty.

Five Stars are not sufficient for this super 'B&B'.I do not have the writing skills to do justice to the lovely owners, Jayne and Ian, and their brilliant home.Wylam too is splendid - I am a railway aficionado. Try to visit the village when the Railway Museum is open. The railway station is worth a visit as well - ancient as the hills and most unusual.Jayne and Ian, and 'Bubbles' - a very senior Pomeranian - we love you!

Hi!I just wanted to say that this home was one of the kindest, most welcoming homes that I have ever stayed at!Now,this was back in 2016,I was walking Hadrians wall, and the mighty David picked me up at a spot, and this family helped me out in regards to a kerfuffle, with internet issues. And the breakfast was insanely good, and the nearby pizza place might be the best Margherita pizza that I have ever had.You are the best!❤️

We are walking Hadrian's wall and this place was exactly what we needed after a long day. Very lovely rooms with impeccable service. The owner was incredibly kind and recommended the best restaurant of the bistro up the road. Would definitely stay here again! The packed lunch was wonderful the next day too!

Wormald House is THE place to stay! We noticed the gorgeously soft, thick carpets instantly - perfect for our tired feet! Jayne and Ian were such hospitable and thoughtful hosts - Jayne dried our wet boots by the Aga and Ian dropped us off for the start of our walk. The rooms are stunningly stylish, spacious and individual. Very comfortable beds and we loved the eco-friendly credentials. The breakfast was amazing, from the wonderfully creamy scrambled eggs to Jayne's delicious rhubarb and ginger jam! The cereals were helpfully labelled to indicate gluten free, vegan and vegetarian. Nothing was too much for Jayne and Ian!The Wood Oven next door served the best pizzas outside of Italy!

We stayed here on our Hadrian's Wall walking holiday. Very welcoming hosts who picked us up from Heddon on the Wall and delivered us back there the following morning. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. Excellent shower - very important! And lots of options for breakfast, including a selection of vegetarian and vegan options.I would highly recommend this stay.

I had a lovely stay at Wormald House. The hosts were really lovely. It was booked on my behalf as part of a walking holiday and I was not disappointed at all. The room was spotless, it had everything I needed for a very comfortable stay. I particularly liked how plush the carpet was, very welcome after a long day on my feet. Lovely little touches such as the fresh milk in the room, the complementary lift to and from Hadrian's Wall, the home made jam at breakfast all made for a real homely experience. I highly recommend this place. And how can I forget the packed lunch?! My sandwich was delicious 😋
